Have you ever installed custom parts that did not fit? First there is doubt: really, I must be doing something wrong or missing something. Then there is extended trial and error: maybe this way, maybe there is something missing. Asking for help without giveing the puzzle away is next: who has experience and does not make me look stupid? Upset and refusal is next: This is stupid, I am not gonna do it.
Then and only if you are really into it comes acceptance and adaptation: I am just gonna make it work. It will take me extra time but I will do it.
This can take a lot of extra time sometimes. But if there is a good outcome then the labour is put behind. Oh well…
But then sometimes a glimmer of pride and satisfaction emerges: I did it.
