In the fall of 2007 there was a first international congress on Plant Oil Fuels. The website is a little dated but has interesting links to other German sites (some have English versions): http://www.plant-oil-congress.info/

Sometimes there seems to be a competition between Biodiesel and SVO. I think we have to work together and helped to establish a local Biodiesel Coop. The idea is that the local Biodiesel Coop collects all the used vegetable oil in the area from restaurants, passes on filtered oil to people who have converted their vehicles and produces Biodiesel. The fuels can be made available to members at convenient public places: http://www.cowfuel.org/
